We have a vibrant Youth Home Group aimed mainly at teenagers, but starting from age 10 for those in the final terms of primary school.  In the last year, a new influx of young people have joined us as some of our older members have left for university or are working hard towards their A levels.

We meet on Monday evenings (apart from during school holidays) from 7pm until 9pm and aim to mix games, sport and plenty of cake with teaching and worship in a relaxed, fun setting.

We have recently run the Youth Alpha course, which was relaunched with some great new material at the start of 2010. We plan to run at least one new Youth Alpha course every year, and maybe more depending on demand!

Check out the Youth Alpha website to find out more  http://youthalpha.org

Each Summer, we take a group of young people from Stanford in the Vale and surrounding towns and villages to the Soul Survivor event in Shepton Mallett.

How to describe Soul Survivor in one sentence: it consists of 20,000 or so young people camping out together, having fun, making new friends, chilling out and worshipping God.

If you haven't been yet, there's a couple of photos here to let you know what you're missing :-)  You might want to have a little look at their website too - www.soulsurvivor.com

Every couple of months, the Youth Home Group organise a Café Church Sunday evening at St Denys Church. The last one was attended by around 50 young people from Stanford in the Vale and surrounding villages and towns, plus a good few more who still feel young even if their teenage years are long behind them!

The teenagers lead the worship in a very relaxed cafe-style environment with hot dogs, cakes and drinks on hand.  We find that it's a great way for young people to enjoy worship in our church but without the teenage challenges of getting up on a Sunday morning!

If you want to know more, or want to join our Youth Home Group, please get in touch through our contact form, find the facebook group for St Denys café church or ring the only youth leaders brave enough to let me put their names and phone numbers on the website -
